4 electrifying plays, 4 secret locations, 1 hot and very controversial English dramatist = one unforgettable Fringe experience. Theatre Yes’s walking tour to four site specific locations, debuted 4 of Mark Ravenhill’s critically acclaimed, in-your-face plays in Canada.
Shoot/Get Treasure/ Repeat is cycle of 16 short plays that explore the personal and political effect of war on modern life. Crime and Punishment, Armageddon, Paradise Lost, and Intolerance were presented by a 10 member cast at the Edmonton International Fringe Festival.
Originally commissioned by the Edinburgh Festival and winner of the Fringe First Award, Shoot/Get Treasure/ Repeat viscerally and intelligently investigate the resonance of war on “safe” western populations exporting “freedom and democracy” while living in in increasingly gated communities
“Brilliant, visceral experience. One of my top three Fringe experiences of the past 11 years.” — Audience Member
“The production of Shoot/Get Treasure/Repeat subverted those defenses to provide one of the best theatre experiences offered in Edmonton in years.” — Timothy J. Anderson Actor, Writer
“Captures Ravenhill’s cynical-but-sincere world view perfectly, and each of these stories can not only go from bleakly funny to depressingly touching in a heartbeat, but also work on both the political and the personal level.” — David Berry, See Magazine
“It’s one of the best things I’ve seen since in too long… one of those pieces that is going to stay with me. Staggering acting from beginning to end and clearly a very sharp directorial mind at work.” — Audience Member
